Middle School
At this time, we do not have class parents for Middle School. PTA events benefiting the Middle School students must go through a few pre-planning and pre-approval stages before dates can be set.
Chairpersons & Class Parents
Thank you for choosing to volunteer in such an important capacity. In order to comply with our Bylaws as well as that of the national PTA guidelines, you are to be members in good standing (ie. pay your dues) before assuming your role.
As a School No. 6 PTA member, you are automatically a member of the National PTA.
Visit www.pta.org or www.njpta.org for valuable member benefits and resources.
A user name and password is listed on the back of your membership card.
Garden State PTA is a separate membership.

Class Parents
Responsibilities of a Class Parent
-You must be a member of the School #6 PTA
-As a Class Parent, you are responsible for the entire class, not just your individual child. All classroom events/parties are at the discretion of the Teacher & Principal.
-Visitor Passes must be worn at each visit during school hours. Minimize classroom disruption. Do not overstay your welcome! Adults are limited to Adult restrooms, located in the Faculty room or other designated area. Do not use the children's restroom.
-Class Parent input and ideas are necessary. Class Parents are often the first communicators between the PTA, teachers, and non-PTA members.
-Class Parent will be asked to organize or assist at a snack sale, event, or fundraisers for your classroom, grade or the PTA. You may also be asked to send out reminders to your classrooms throughout the year.
-Class Parents will be the first persons asked to be a chaperone for field trips. If you cannot chaperone, the teacher shall choose any other parent in your place.
-Class Parents will be responsible to create collection letters for their holiday and end of yearTeacher gifts (templates available)
-Class Parents must be accessible by email as this is the most efficient form of mass communication we have.

We thank everyone for volunteering for these roles, especially to those who want to be a class parent to multiple classrooms.
Holiday Letters and End of Year Letters are almost the same. Class Parents normally send these out before the holidays and the end of year, collecting funds toward a gift for the teacher (and aides, if any). You can create your own or ask one of the officers for a template.
